I'ld like to know how far the sun is from the earth, and is the sun moving further away from the earth?
Earth's distance from the Sun
Professor Sarah Bellum Posted Oct 19, 2007
The Earth's average distance from the Sun is 1 astronomcal unit which is 93 million miles or 150 million kilometers.
The distance between the Earth and the Sun varies over the course of a year but the Sun and Earth arn't moving near or further in the sense that you asked.
In the long term, the Sun's gravity is reducing so the distance between the Earth and Sun is inceasing but this is only noticeable over 100 of million of years. The distance could be twice what it is today in about 5 billion years time.
