Do you remember Morph who started life on Take Heart? He was a little brown plasticine creature that was always getting covered in paint or glue or something and then falling over onto the paper Tony Heart was about to use. At the end though the picture would always turn out okay! I think he had his own series at one time too!

I was just about to mention Morph... you beat me to it be 51 minutes! Morph's main features were his ability to change shape, the way plasticine does, and his ability to communicate with Tony Hart in an unintelligible mumble which Tony could understand perfectly (a bit like Kenny in South Park). In later years, Morph gained a friend, the inexplicably named Chas, who looked exactly like Morph except he was a light grey colour. And yes, they did have their own series for a while, called "The Amazing Adventures Of Morph" or something very similar.

Not sure... I think when Chas came along (where do those strange plasticine men come from?), Morph was the nice guy and Chas was the nasty one, as indicated by their different voices - Morph just sounded as if his mouth had been superglued together, whereas Chas had the additional problem of sounding as if he'd swallowed a pencil sharpener.

Did he really first appear in Take Heart? I have a vague recollection of him being on 'Vision On' as well.... or am I just confusing programmes with Tony Hart and 'The Gallery'?????

If I had more time...
How come no one's mentioned Chorlton and the Wheelies?

i'm pretty sure that in "The adventures of Morph" which was his own show, Chas was either Morphs mate or his brother. He had a whole family in that one and they all lived in a little wooden box. There was a mum and dad and a Grandad with a beard and walking stick. I think there was a girl as well.
