Some years back in the US, somebody did a not-too-serious study (http://www.mda.state.mi.us/kids/countyfair/games/icecream/icecream.asp) that tried to correlate ice cream preferences to personality traits. I was surprised that: 1) vanilla is the most popular flavour; and 2) the 'quieter' personalities tended to prefer more intense flavours and vice versa.
Not sure what it says about me, though: I've never met an ice cream I didn't like.
