Emmily ~ Roses are red, Peas are green, My face is a laugh, But yours is a scream

You've just reminded me of something Jims. There's one Rupert Bear annual that's apparently worth more than the others as it is the only one with a brown/black bear, or something like that, possibly the 1973 Rupert Annual, at least that's the one I have in my memory, but that could be wrong. smiley - erm

Don't quote me on this Opti, I'm unsure of details, and seeing if anyone else knows any more. smiley - ok

Theres a few things on that site I haven't covered, but you have to ask the question - where do you cross the line?

You've used that link on 'Rupert Bear Annuals' Opti (I did't click that before) so in a way, you've already included what's on that site. You can't cover everything on every subject, just the important facts and what you think you think will be the most interesting to people, well that's what I try to do. smiley - oksmiley - smiley

I think I may have now put in a little too much. It definitely needs a good read through and sections such as tv sorting out.

Yes, this is very comprehensive.

But nowhere do you actually describe Rupert. His dress is familiar to many people - red sweater, yellow trousers and scarf with black crisscross lines. I recall you could even buy 'Rupert' outfits for young children in the late 1970s, as I actually had one. In fact I may still have the scarf somewhere. And the fact that he was white, unlike other bears (Edward Bear and Teddy). Which could be read into if you were that way inclined, seeing as the innocence of older characters like Noddy, Thomas the Tank Engine and the Magic Faraway Tree people are continually called into question by PC mongers.

Rant over.

Gnomon - time to move on

I wouldn't say "perfect", Opti, but you could probably put it into Peer Review at this stage, providing you are willing to consider any changes suggested there.
