I used to love this game when I was a kid, even if I did get the wind knocked out of me on multiple occasions. Eventually the game was banned at my school and I've never played it since. Perhaps the time is right to spring this gem on another unsuspecting generation.

Ah the good old days. I too played this in elementary school. Good memories, and a good explanation of the game.

that brings back some memories
It, and it's varients, got banned at my school when one lad suffered a broken jaw. We were all very diappointed by that, so used to play the game at the other end of the school field, far away from the prying eyes of the teachers.
Lordy knows what they'd do nowadays. Probably suspend the kids or plonk them in front of their playstations to get fat and lazy, then get the lawyers in to defend against law suits from the parents. I don't know a little violence and plenty of exercise was all part of growing up back in my day. It never hurt anyone, well not many anyway
As to my views on this entry? Well if this has been picked by a Scout, then give them a big round of and get this example of the way we used to play into the Guide ASAP

Wowee. Nobody even pointed out any grammar or spelling errors... Must be some kind of record.
I'm glad there are people out there who recognize the game and have memories similar to my own. When I wrote the article I secretly feared that it was some sort of freak abberation and no one else in the world would know what I was on about.
As always, many thanks to the scouts for picking this one up, and thanks to whoever ends up editing it. May their job be as simple as everyone else seems to think it will be.
