Other Solutions to the Kobiyashi

I have read in one of the novels, (I don't recall which) that Montgomery Scott nearly beat the simulation. His solution was, it turns out, very typically "scotty-ish". In short, he forced his vessel to perform otherwise un-reproduceable feats. He was able to consistantly bypass whatever damage he recieved to re-boost his sheilds and re-arm his weapons. Eventually, the simulator threw the entire Klingon home fleet at him, and he was overcome.

I've read that book. And it should be pointed out that the simulation would have just kept adding ships to infinity until he inevitably died. He definitely had the most creative solutions though. Specifically, the "un-reproduceable feat" was beaming 15 photon torpedoes into the shield junctions of the Klingon ships. Mathematically, it should have caused an override, so the simulator made them all explode. But practical experiments proved that this wouldn't happen.
