Hi Gnomon
I would never have known that my entry had been picked if it weren't for the congratulatory e-mail I received.
May the bless you!

Prideth, while I am delighted to be blessed, I wasn't the one who picked it. I just noticed that it had been picked, so I pointed it out.
Well done, anyway! I hope you are encouraged to write some more.

The normal automated congratulations seem to have disappeared. I don't think it's intentional, and that sometime in the near? future they will reappear.
Until then, the author and the recommending scout will both get an e-mail telling them of the approval of the pick. I can't claim credit for recommending this one, although had I had a pick at the time, it would have been on my list.
Well done! Great entry!

P.S. Is it possible to find out which scout did pick my entry so as I can thank them personally? Or is that type of thing not done?

They might pop up and say it was them, but otherwise I don't think there's a way to find out... There isn't one I know about anyway.
