Awix consider yourself supplanted!
(and y'know Calendar Girls really IS much better than Italian Job)

I passed your praise and requests for regime change on to Kwix, with the following response:
"I am only a humble housewife, not Jonathan Ross."
Plus she hates spiders and doesn't like violent films, which pretty much rules out most of the autumn schedule...

Awix Posted Oct 3, 2003
You're suggesting my mother is (figuratively speaking) also my brother? Where are you from, Norfolk?
Woo!
[...] Posted Oct 3, 2003
No, I'm saying that Paul Ross whom does the This Morning reviews is designed for the housewife!

Catwoman Posted Oct 6, 2003
There are lots of films (mostly the rom-coms)that we'd prefer a recommendation from a female, and since Mum-wix has so proven herself...
There's nothing to stop you from going to see them as well, Awix.
Woo!
Awix Posted Oct 6, 2003
Why do you prefer a recommendation from a woman? (Sexist.) I'm in touch with my feminine side. (Several times a day, if I can manage it.)
Well, anyway, right since the early days of the column I've always said I'd happily take guest reviews or collaborate. If you want to sprinkle special magic lady dust across the column and review rom-coms or whatever, CW, feel free...
Are there any other genres I should steer clear of, while we're on the topic?

Hey I'm invisible... I think I'll go off and make a GOOD movie based on my power!

Catwoman Posted Oct 7, 2003
Let's just say that you weren't the target audience for calendar girls (very high proportaion of grey heads when I went to see it). So there are some films that you might not enjoy not because they weren't good, but because they just weren't your sort of thing.
Woo!
Awix Posted Oct 7, 2003
I don't go to see a film if I don't think I'm remotely going to enjoy it, although it's been a close call on a couple of occasions.
*cough*Bruce Almighty*cough*
I try to be fairly objective anyway.
But never let it be said that I'm not open to constructive criticism, the next rom-com review should hopefully have a feminine slant to it.
Anything else people would like changed in the column?
Woo!
[...] Posted Oct 7, 2003
Who said we want anything changed?
Besides you're staying whether we kill you or not-- wait, did I get that right?
Woo!
Awix Posted Oct 7, 2003
You know, that's rather impertinent of you, Jar Jar, that's there for the convenience of Shazz and myself, not so groupies can get a sneak preview of what's coming up.
Woo!
[...] Posted Oct 7, 2003
You DO know what groupies do don't you? An' I'm not doin' that!
And I said that in that way so I wasn't building an illuminous arrow pointing to the source!
Woo!
Awix Posted Oct 7, 2003
Well, it still feels like being stalked.
And I don't care whether or not you tell anyone else where it is! It's the fact you're reading and then going nudge-nudge-wink-wink about the fact!
Woo!

The comment could have stood perfectly well on it's own.
You brought attention to it! Everyone else would have been happy in their ignorance!
Woo!
Awix Posted Oct 7, 2003
Well I'm just getting a tiny bit ticked off with you stealing a march every week. Wait in line like everyone else.
