"So he's going to make you an honorary injun just for the occasion and everybody else, because they hold him in such vast esteem and high regard that he can't find no native apprentices, is going to be okay with it?
"Well, I hate to discourage you, but guess again, Dr. Einstein, because about the only way you'll ever get that old man to agree to such a preposterous arrangement is to get him drunk on his ass."
I kind of like that assessment of my odds of becoming an Injun. Stated that way, a lot of comic book origins which involve Injuns, make more sense.
Still... Are you familiar with the New England Indian tribes, such as the Mashantucket Pequot? Last I heard, they were letting anyone with 1/16 Pequot blood, into the tribe. It's hard to find purebloods, where the white man's been living for four centuries. If I really wanted to become an Injun, I'd start there.
