Thank you so much for writing this down. You made this very clear, and told it well from a child's point of view. Difficult times but the intense feelings for people have given way to indifference and a taking for granted of things that are precious in more prosperous times.
I don't care much for wind so I doubt I could have survived in such a constantly windy place-no matter how beautiful it is. I too am glad that the editors re-ran this piece.
