Well, any Jam fans out there can be thankful that we don't have an entry on the band as it's deprived me of the excuse to use their song titles as puns on today's Front Page. But it would be nice to see Paul Weller and his chums recognised in the Edited Guide some day...

Why today though? Probably the most two significant dates are 25th May 1958 (Weller's birthday) and 11th December 1982 (their last ever gig, at the Brighton Centre, and also my 8th birthday) so was it purely for gag-related purposes?

Well, I'd only got as far as 'Going Underground' for the UnderGuide, and was musing over 'That's Entertainment' before I realised there wasn't an entry.

A shame he couldn't quite get the hair and trousers right, otherwise there'd have been a proper mod revival.
