UK Counties & Regions - England - North Yorkshire

One of the most beautiful counties in the UK, North Yorkshire has had a long and noble tradition of feeling slightly superior to that other Northern county on the other side of the Pennines. But what else is there to know about the White Rose county? Why not add your knowledge and help us write this entry?

I'll be able to give suggestions and stuff, but I don't know if I'm up to writing this myself.

Well I'm just delighted that somebody has finally made at least *one* comment on here! I'm amazed that there haven't been more North Yorkshire dwellers/fans queueing up to have their say, to be honest...!

Aye, you'd think England's largest county would produce a few more interested researchers. It's not that populous, mind.

I'm delighted to announce that we already have two County entries in Peer Review, waiting to receive any bouquets or brickbats that people might lob in their general direction! If you're currently either working on or contributing to a County entry of your own right now, you might like to have a quick look to see how some other researchers have tackled this challenge. They are: County Fermanagh (A6092606) and Norfolk (A6108473).
Hope you enjoy reading them!

I'm having a go at starting this. There's not a lot there yet, but you can see the entry at A6251735.

That's a fantastic start, Bagpuss - surely there must be some more people born on the Wrong Side of the Pennines* out there who can help you out!

If you need anything on York, Bagpuss, I might be able to help you out. I've only been here for 5 weeks, mind! There is an edited entry on York already, so you won't need much detail.

I think York might just be a link. Mind you, the York entry could stand to be a bit longer. It doesn't mention the railway museum, and as for what to do in York of a night-time - there's a couple of pubs.

Yeah, only a couple, not many at all...
There's Toffs, The Gallery and Ziggy's nightclubs, for a start.

Hi Bagpuss,
Any chance of you dropping this entry into one of the review forums? We'd love to see if get onto the Front Page.
We're offering T-shirts to anyone who can get the remaining county entries through PR and onto the Front Page.
