Elm,beech,maple,hazel,oak,pine,fir,lime,holly!
Seems like we are all hooked on bottoms this week. Very quiet out there...perchance we are scraping the'bum' of the barrel!
Could the new 'get writing' site have anything to do with it?
for the entry. Great as always...didn't you miss out one vital ingredient in the banana bread though?

I just emailed the answers to Terri so as not to spoil everyone's fun - you could be correct with the last one, but I found another less obvious one to 'Holly' boots.

rats! off to check again. sorry another bout of 'foot in mouth' didn't realise you weren't supposed to post the answers.
Thanks for letting me make the deadline btw...really must work harder on my time management skill (note not plural). Do you know anything about the 'get writing' site Shazz? Is this where the italics have sloped off to? It feels uncomfortably like a coup. The last time I had this feeling the Seychelles were taken over by Mike Hoare...ah good feeling better already...that one failed!

No, no
of course you should post the answers here - it's just that I prefer to let our readers have a go rather than cluttering up Terri's responses myself. I *do* have a slight unfair advantage in seeing it first (this, *not* Greebo's Word game which I am never privvy to)
I've taken a quick looksee over at the 'Get Writing' site, but haven't posted there and I have no more info than everyone else as to the movements of the italics.
Thankfully, the waiting time will be over soon and we can, hopefully, settle down to a revamped h2g2. Whatever the outcome I am sure h2g2 (and <./>ThePost</.> will continue - but things may have to change.
Don't worry about being tardy - all our best writers do it occasionally and we've learnt to cope with it.

*awards rosettes, pinned onto suitably inappropriate places*
--What the bloody hell did I miss out of the banana bread recipe???? spim immediately said "bananas"; but nope, we have some bananas...
--Why are we all awake at this ridiculous hour?
--Why is Enid so popular?
--And most important; DO Not Forget September 19th
toodle-pip, off to chastise my co-author...

That date is easy for me to remember because it is the birthday of my oldest nephew Lewis - card already translated and dispatched.
*Admires the rosette sticking out of her ???*
Thank you
This isn't a ridiculous hour... it's the witching hour

Oh yes, Terri... did you like the chromography in this week's rendering. I thought it rather fetching!

Very fetching & entirely appropriate m'dear! spim is well pleased; in fact he nearly chose that colour himself when he was typing up H.O.T but maroon was nearer to the top of the list!
Still none the wiser about the missing bananary bits......

I believe in the benefits of a bit of dirt myself.

My oven went "whoomph!", should I have peeled the bananas?
