Rains - Wondering where time's going and why it's in so much of a hurry! Posted Jun 27, 2006
Depends... about what subjects are we pedantic? English spelling and grammar, for example?
*ppssst... can I have a too? Thanks *

Both are very welcome, thanks.
Looking at your current name tag, I'm glad I've found someone who shares the same views.
So... Out of curiosity, are you one of those clever people who know how to make badges?

I think it's down to site management to make badges.
Maybe we could assign Pedantices, such as: Elly, Pedant Keeper of the Holy Hyphen; AFGANCAAP, Pedant Patron of GoP
and suchlikes...

I haven't got a clue about badges .
Elly, that's a cool idea. It rather appeals to my sense of humour . Although some people may be generally pedantic, rather than specifically so...
I wonder if you could have specialist pedantics, kind of like specialist subjects on Mastermind?

I think you're pedantic over certain things (aka neurotic)- I'm pedantic about spelling and grammar in 2 languages, doors being shut and my privacy. Others are pedantic about the way they make tea... so, you know- speciaised pedancy for all!

Woo-hoo! I'm up for that .
Incidentally, I'm pedantic about my CD collection being in alphabetical order by artist, and then if I have more that one album by one artist it's then in chronological order. Glasses and mugs have specific places and must be stacked in a particular way in their particular space in the cupboard. When our lodger put things away in that cupboard, I actually went through it and rearranged everything how I liked it . Although if you ever saw my house, you wouldn't believe I was *that* pedantic.
I'm pedantic about spelling in particular and grammar in general, although I'm not perfect (yet ). As I can only manage English, I'm probably half the pedant you are . I'm with you on doors being shut, though!

I guess I'm just generally pedantic. LOve the idea of rankings of pedantry...
I'll try and put it on the guild page somehow.
