Yes - a Gumby is blown up in the sketch, (if I remember rightly) both in the original Flying Circus version and the ANFSCD version.

Are you happy with the entry 42donpanic?

Erm, well... I don't know, it hasn't been in PR for very long, so I would assume its not quite ready. But its up to everyone else.

Well you've done everything asked of you in PR and it seems a pretty comprehensive entry to me. Time in PR doesn't matter so long as it's over the incubation period (which this is)

Hi 42donpanic smiley - smiley

Assuming you mean these (smiley - sorry it's a 'wlki' link)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gumbies

There wear braces over their knitted tank tops, and also wore a knotted hankerchief. smiley - oksmiley - smiley

The headers make no sense to me, but then, as it's Monty Python, and I'm not a fan of Monty Python, maybe that's why smiley - erm

No, the headers aren't really suppposed to make sense, they are just a good way to work in quotes. smiley - winkeye

"In 1999, during a reunion of the Pythons, except for the dead one, they all dressed as Gumbies. Though Eric Idle was replaced by Eddie Izzard."

I don't like the way these two sentences are phrased. In particular, it's rather dismissive of Graham Chapman, and it is rather obvious that the "dead one" wouldn't be at the reunion. (Apart from his ashes). Perhaps something like:

"In 1999, during a reunion of the Pythons, except of course Graham Chapman, they all dressed as Gumbies. Hoever, Eric Idle's part was played by Eddie Izzard."

Well, when I say 'except for the dead one' it's just meant to sound funny, because the Pythons are usually blunt about his death.

Hmm...

It didn't sound funny to me. smiley - winkeye

Perhaps something like "In 1999, during a reunion of the Pythons, including the ashes of Graham Chapman, they all dressed as Gumbies. Hoever, Eric Idle's part was played by Eddie Izzard."?

Well, that doesn't make sense to say 'including the ashes' since you can't dress up ashes as anything. And besides, I was under the impression that during the television special and everything, GC's ashes wern't really real. I thought that was just a joke when the 'accidentally' kicked them over, and they were just fake.

Hi, looks as if I'm not too late this time smiley - smiley
Can you checkk out these things, they don't make sense to me:

smiley - star Braces (worn over the outside of the vest) - how do you see the braces under the tank tops you mention they're wearing ? smiley - erm

smiley - star When they walked into the studio one time what happens but the whole front row of the audience had handkerchiefs tied around their heads!

I know it's a quotation, but it doesn't make sense to me, shouldn't it be something like: ...what happens is that the whole front row....( or even :... what happened was...) Could you please check if you quoted correctly ?
