May I ask precisely what a Splinter rifle and Splinter Cannon do (apart from kill people)? The Cannon sounds powerful, so I would like to have one.

SR; Standard weapon, reasonable range, nasty spiky bits for attack
SC; Powerful, Fast firing, useless in close combat
