It would be nice to be out in the middle of nowhere. I used to spend a lot of time on the south downs when I was younger as my grandfather lived on them.you could see all the stars at night and there was no light pollution. At night it was really quiet all except the night animals that you could hear.I really miss that.

You better come and stay here - before now, from my study, I've watched a barn owl quartering the field opposite and swooping down for the odd mouse......When I say 'odd' mouse, I am not implying that mice around here are odd - y'know, 5 legs or an ear attached to their back or something
(Thinks - there must be a birdwatching thread somewhere....)

I know what you mean hun. We went on holiday to the lakes a few years ago and we used to get up at the crack of dawn just to go and watch the rabbits in the fields.
The nearest that we have got is when my cat made friends with a fox. they used to sit on my garden path together at about 2 in the morning.

Well, I don't know about the others, but I've been asleep until about 10 minutes ago. Then someone came running in waking us all up!
