21st July 09.
I have just been reading the teletext news pages on the ITV channel and I think this might be of interest to you all.
It's a new website for swine flu information and advice, also giving area by area cases of outbreaks and where it's spreading etc.

http://www.flusurvey.org.uk/

Worth a look if you are worried about yourself or a relative/friend who might be more at risk of infection

Stay safe and healthy my friendssmiley - smileysmiley - ok

Hi Prof,

That site is actually for monitoring all types of influenza based on public reporting of symptoms. It's not specifically about swine flu (although there is some information there about it). AFAIK there is no way to differentiate swine flu from other flu except by lab test. The results in that survey are for all influenza. It's a shame they haven't made that clearer.

VV's offices have been compromised. Three staff members were confirmed with swine flu during the weekend, with another going to be tested yesterday.

Hubby and I are supposed to be going to the Hull Meet at the weekend! smiley - wah

I've most likely been exposed (been around people that have had the flu but no-one's bothering to get it tested now). Personally I'd rather have it now, rather than later when it may be more deadly. Possibly having it now will give higher resistance for later.

Linkin of the fear dinkums

according to the ministry of health (nz) they will no longer test, except extreme cases and people with underlying health issues ( asthma ,obesity). there are over 1000 confirmed cases but in actual times that by ten.
In my work division there was 8 out of 13 away with untested symptoms of swine flu, my sons college was 43% down in the junior grades, at 53% they were going to close.
Although my symptoms were mild the fever was bloody horrible (38-39c) . couldn't get out pf bed for four days, something iv'e never done with the flu before. Like most flu virus once you have it bang you are immune, until it twists and turns into another strain smiley - erm
