Reading/Read 'Answer to Job' by Carl Gustav Jung?
anhaga Posted Jul 2, 2011
I'm re-reading it now and finding it quite interesting.
Anyone?
Reading/Read 'Answer to Job' by Carl Gustav Jung?
anhaga Posted Jul 3, 2011
So, does the silence mean 'no, no one is reading or has read Jung's "Answer to Job" ' or does it just mean no one is reading the subject line?
Seriously. It's brief and very much to the point for both 'sides' of this fence.

Hi Warner,
>I guarantee you that the power of Almighty God is greater than China
'Guarantee'? Could you let me know the exact terms of this 'guarantee'? How much actual cash will you pay me if God turns out to not exist, or at least not to influence the Earth as much as China does?
Or you you perhaps mean 'think' when you say 'guarantee'?

Reading/Read 'Answer to Job' by Carl Gustav Jung?

I'll continue to hammer away with Jung ...
A question which just came to me as I continue through 'Answer to Job' once more is:
If God is all-powerful, can He hide His intentions from Himself?
(Before anyone tries to play the 'logical impossibility' card, surely we can all acknowledge that modestly powerful humans perform this trick all the time.)

Hi Warner,
>By 'guarantee', I mean that you will eventually find out after death (or perhaps before)
Mmm. I'm trying to think of any context where the usual useage of the word 'guarantee' might have that meaning.
'If you can find it cheaper, we'll refund double the difference after you die (or perhaps before).'
Not very convincing, is it?

I would have thought the original `post had been `parsed ad nauseum by now.
What's 'Almighty' mean?
What's 'God' mean?
What's 'America'? Does this mean the U.S., the North American Continent, the land masses of the Western hemisphere? Is it being used as a geographic term? Political? Economic? Something else?
Who is 'blinded' by this 'America'?
Where are these infinite other nations? What are they? In what way are they comparable?
What is meant by 'nation' anyway?
After all that is sorted out reasonably, then we can talk about warner's waranty.

'Why, lots of nations .. surely'
what's a 'nation'?
surely, warner, you see that the point is that your original post is meaningless without voluminous definition of terms?
Even with such definition, I suspect it would still be meaningless.

'western society' modelled on USA has been embraced world-wide
so, being blinded means 'embracing'?
Eating a burger in Mecca is embracing 'America' (whatever that means)?
I'm eating a calzone right now. Does that mean I'm blinded by Italy?
So, nobody else has read 'Answer to Job'?
Key: Complain about this post
There is none with greater power than Almighty God
