Where did they come from?
Who made the first one and are they rich now because of it?

What is a Rice Krispie bun?
I know what Rice Krispies are but didn't know you could make buns from them?

Melt chocolate, stir in rice krispies, put in bun cases, leave to set... you might call them by a different name? Either way they are yum!

Ah those cake things, I think you can use golden syrup instead of chocolate too. I suspect that ones that used cornflakes came first as cornflakes are an earlier cerial.

Beloved of people who sell things to raise money for charities, since you can churn out several thousand for somewhere in the region of 17 pence.

In Australia I think that they are called Chocolate Crackles.
Made with Rice Bubbles, Coconut and copha - is that them?

Although I can't remember Rice Krispie cakes of the type beloved of Scout, Brownie and charity groups being sold in supermarkets I do believe I have eaten in past larger, flat and circular family sized Rice Krispie cakes about half an inch thick. They seemed somewhat more dense than homemade ones and perhaps compressed a little when made. I think that being slightly compressed spoiled the lightness and taste a little compared with homemade ones.

Yep, homemade ones are best... Kellogs ones I think use syrup and they are kinda chewy. My mum makes them sometimes with raisins in - double yum

With chopped marshmallows!
Or for a classier version, use a flavoured dark chocolate such as Maya Gold...

trust me, you'd think it doesn't work, but then that dark, spicy chocolate melts a little on your tongue and you rethink rapidly...

hmmmm! I don't doubt it's delicious but I still think you're going to end up a mess of crumbs and chocolate - not very classy but I'm ok with it

That would make for a helplessly undefended chocolatey cleavage and I can only imagine what that will do to the male members. Of hootoo..
