How important is it to leave a legacy ... something that will out live your life? Think of Tony Blair - when he first came into government and then going to war with Bush et al.

Write a book; create a foundation; plant a tree; or nothing?

I'm leaving behind 2 children to continue the loony way

Planting a tree might be a good one, I don't have any particular wish for my name to live on except in the memory of people who actually knew me.

I hope memories of me will make people smile. If I am to leave a legacy, I would hope it would be something that gives people humour and hope.

I have no ambition to.

Though in terms of money, I'd love to hav enough money to give plenty to any relatives, but to leave some to lots of charities... Mainly animal rescue/rehab/palliative care places, and child protection charities.

Ideally I'd like to take every cruel, ignorant and nastily sadistic m*****f***** with me... That do as my legacy! A world free of inherent cruelty and neglect. No excuses for the rest of you then!

After the Great Strom of '87 I gather the fallen acorns and chesnuts and grew several dozen sapplings and we planted them, by the time I die the Oaks should just be growing into fertile adults.

What a great thing to do.

About 30 years ago, we lived in the Caribbean, where my husband grew up. We had a huge driveway up to our little house and my husband and children picked up coconut trees from the beach and brought them back and planted them up the drive. When I went back a couple of years ago the trees had turned into a sight for sore eyes, they looked very impressive and brought a tear to me eye.
