KELLIN: *curls a smile* And you're one of the most apt jedi I have come across.

Reefgirl (Brunel Baby) Posted Jun 29, 2004
*Smiles coyly*
Well if that isn't a backhanded compliment I don't know what is
*Leans over and whispers*
What's it like to meet your match then Chancellor

*moves slightly closer so that he reaches her face*
KELLIN: Arrogance and an ego. You're the opitomy of what the Jedi Order represents: Rogues who flout the law for their own devices, hiding behind a veil of 'protection' and desire for 'peace', and brainwash those who don't agree.
*Although not an evil man, the strong-minded Kellin gives of the true belief in what he says through the Force.*
You will be watched /very/ carefully, Jedi.
*reels back, scribbles onto some paper, sighs then stands up to lookout of the window with his hands behind his back*
*whispers to himself as he watches various dots appearing in orbit and regret ripples through the Force...*
It was not supposed to be this way...
*seems to snap from self then turns head to Cobal*
That paper in front of you will get you your meeting.
*looks back through window and says in most lip movement with no sound: 'Where is your Order when chaos descends from above?'*

Reefgirl (Brunel Baby) Posted Jun 30, 2004
I am as arrogant as you are Chancellor and my ego is my own affair
*Picks up the paper*
Thank you Chancellor, I will be looking into Ma'rol's care vary carefully
Chancellor, we offered our services to you on many many occations, but
you knew you could handle Ma'rol and the Sith without us, you ridiculed our attempt to help you and now it is too late I fear
I will wait for your guards and physicians at the holding cell

*enters the office and heads over to the aide*
I can stop this war... I can stop it before it begins.

Well, I've at least thought of a way that they will allow you to put Ambassador Mannan on trial, without escalating the conflict. You see, in return for allowing him a fair trial for war crimes in the senate, you're going to need to hand over a man who's wanted by the Kaminoan authorities.
*stares up at the ceiling*
Re-open diplomatic channels, offer them the suspected terrorist Annat Tayswi in return for Ma'rol Mannan.

When I was dispatched to Kamino, there was a slight misunderstanding between myself and the authorities...
Nothing serious, nobody was harmed, and I didn't come into contact with anyone, but the Kaminoans took it the wrong way.

KELLIN: Yes, it puzzles me that the isolationist Kaminoans have become so aggressive...
*sits down*
I would love to do so of course, but the people would take that as I having a personal vendetta against the Jedi.
I do not want you nor like you but I'll be blasted if I'm anything like the Emperor. I know what the burden this title holds even if it be less influential than before.

*bows head in resignation*
I, I don't know what else to suggest Chancellor. Unless you can stall any sort of conflict until Mannan is tried. If he's found guilty of war crimes by the Senate then surely there is no need for war?

KELLIN: I do not like the idea of handing over a body as a downpayment.
Supreme Chancellor's Office
Secretly Not Here Any More Posted Jul 2, 2004
Neither do I Chancellor. It's my body, and there's no guarantee that I'll be proven innocent. But if it will prevent a war...

*rubs browand makes exasperated thinking groan*
KELLIN: What has your Council to say on this?

I haven't discussed it with them. The order is split anyway. Two of the order may well be collaborating with Mannan, two of us are directly aiding the republic and the rest are neutral.

Anoon Birkil Mannan is the Ambassador's wife. She's mentally the weakest of all of us, Mannan shows great influence over her. If he whistles, she'll come running.
The other is Co'bal Th'chi. She's an upstart. Used to be a bounty hunter, now she fancies herself as a diplomat. Whatever the council decides, she'll do the opposite. If I suggest something, she'll ignore it. She's brought at least one 'reformed' Dark Jedi into the order and I trust her slightly less than I trust Mannan.
*shrugs*
But I don't think they'd actively work against the Republic.
