Just saw Spirited Away. Any chance of that one getting the treatment? Best film I've seen since Amelie, I reckon.

Well, it doesn't seem to have got a major release around here, so it'll probably be in the arthouse slot... and it doesn't look like it'll be showing up there before the new year.

Have to say it looks so bad-acid-trip freaky my first impulse would be to see Bellevue Au Revoir instead, given the choice, but it's got such uniformly fantastic reviews I expect I'll give it a whirl if 'n' when it shows up.

Why do you want me to review a film you've already seen?

(Although anything would be better than most of the crud I've seen recently.)

Well, call me an addle-brained naif but I always really thought the process went something like 'hmm, I fancy going to the flicks tonight, but there's so much choice, I wonder which films are worth going to see. I know, I'll read some reviews so I can make an informed choice.'

Although having said that I do read a lot of reviews myself just to see how much I agree with them (or not)...
