The person centered counselling is that the same as the humanistic counselling ? cos that's the one that sounds more me !!! the freudian arrrrgggghhhhhhh !!!!! Personally after this course i'm hoping to go onto dance voice therapy courses a more 'hands-on' approach It also looks into how to improve self esteem by learning and teaching people to use their bodies more effectively we also will use makaton to help 'helpees' apparantly the socially acceptable term lol feel more coomfortable and more able to communicate !!! anyway good luck and anytime you want a natter !!!!!

The person-centered approach is about being empathic/congruent with uncondtional positive regard, it is also about the client helping themselves, you dont show/tell them what to do, you have to just guide them so they can see for them-selves and change there behaviour/thinking themselves. Does that make sense? Im really interested in CBT (Congentive Behavioural Therapy) seems really interesting.

Freud, ouch, what is it, everything you do is based on the un-consious mind, including what happened in the womb! I dont know a lot about it, but got a load of paper-work that i have got to read about the pshcyo-dynamic approach, which is based on Freud, and a few other ppl!

Anyway, enjoy!
