Should Freedom Reign or should it Ring?

Why do I still have the feeling that George W. would be thinking of the poem "America" (see above link) rather than to Nelson Mandella or Martin Luther King?

I don't think he was "quoting" a particular poem. I think he probably simply knew the phrase and used it.
We often use phrases without knowing where it necessarily comes from.
I just don't know why he or his "handlers" thought there was a need to 'splain it at all. It just goes to show how the media blows something out of proportion and the political spinners feel the need to put a spin on everything.

I think it more likely that his PR men did some research and decided on that phrase. The idea that he spontaneously came up with it whilst passing notes in class with Condi is a tad far fetched.

And as someone previously pointed out, why was he passing scribbled notes? What was he actually supposed to be doing at the time? Listening to someone else, presumably.

That struck me too... Dubya doesn't seem the type to spontaneously come up with something so propagandistic!

Just thank The Lord that The Olympics aren't in the US this summer. The drum-bashing at LA in '84 was bad, by the time of Atlanta in '96 it was nauseating. George Junior would run riot on an occasion like that

aren't javelins all pretty much the same? i think you could paint it up to look nice, but if the paint somehow affected wind resistance there may be an unfair advantage gained!!!
*trying to appear sporty*
Besides who judges javelins?

the nemeth javelin is a better javelin than the standard one.
jan zelezny has more records with a nemeth than any other kind of javelin.
