A Conversation for The Great Blackout of 2003

This was the Western edge of the blackout. Counties 20 miles to the North or West were unaffected. Here the Power stuttered and died. Traffic Lights affecting a quarter of a million people in the Greater Lansing Area went dead. So commuters treated these corners as four way stops. There were no street lights. I thought what a great chance for star-gazing, but was dissapointed. A ground fog limited visibility to second magnitude or brighter. Within twelve hours power in Lansing had been restored. Detroit was not so lucky. They had at least two nights of it.
