h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

*Weequay screams as he flips and tumbles in the sand*

*hits the afterburner and speeds towards the finish line*

*a rumbling comes from behind and three racers appear heading for the midpoint flash, one with Dhaypthrot lying across its bike's back*

*swerves past the flag at breakneck speed*

*uses the force to kick up a dust cloud behind him*

*uses the force to hold up a rock at around head height in the cloud in the hope a rider will hit it*

*carries on at speed*

*there's a loud whirr of a bike and an 'umpf!' as two riders speed up and move on Annat's sides.*

*third rider chugs out of dust slowly but shaking*

*afterburner shorts out*

*Annat swears under his breath*

*draws on the force, readying to try and force push both riders at his sides*

*one rider clamps himself on but another gets pushed but then suddenly explodes*

*flinches from the explosion*

*leans down and attempts to feed the backup fuel line into the afterburner*

*partially succeeds, switches to backup fuel and clings on as the afterburner kicks in again*

*a small amount of fuel sprays behind him*

*a shot flies by Annat and the rider*

*a small curse is heard a short distance away from the shot's direction*

*stands on the swoop's seat*

*uses the force to steady himself*

*leaps onto the adjacent rider's swoop and punches him in the side of the head with his metal hand*

*Annat's bike bounces and explodes*

*The rider's bike leans even more from the combination of punch and explosion*

*Dhapthrot lying on the back grabs Annat of the bike with him as the rider speeds away then turns around*

*rolls in the sand and springs to his feet*

*kicks Dhapthrot in the head to knock him unconcious and turns to face the oncoming rider*

*sand billows up as Dhaypthrot lands*

*the swoop rider smiles as he speeds toward Annat, his grip secure*

*draws on the Force and drops into a crouch*

*the swoop swerves and grabs Dhaypthrot and speeds for the finish*


*they get a few seconds away when a hand grabs Annat and pulls him up onto the third swoop rider's bike and follows*

RING: You're an idiot, you know that?

*He cleans something of the handle bars*

And you're messy...

*Well, they won't let me use my 'saber. That kills things cleanly*

*attempts to pull Dhapthrot off the swoop with the force*

So who's been shooting?

RING: I'll say it's Es if you don't tell him. *cough*

Seriously? That's nice of him... So there's a contract on me?

*levitates a rock and hurles it at the other swoop riders*

*Dhaypthrot curses as a rock bounces off his head*

RING: First shot wasn't ours. Got the guy whose it was though. Misaimed the last one.

*pulls out blaster and shoots the sand near the swoop in front*
