I saw the last three minutes of it. That count?

Saw the entire thing. ATM machine scene was worth a laugh. It wasn't bad, but doesn't stick out as the best film I've ever seen.

hi Big Red,

I agree with you that Moulin Rouge was extremely tedious - another film I barely finished watching (gee, they're adding up!) Am now trying to recall any film with Ms Kidman in it that I liked and . . . nope.

Ever see "Flirting"?

Did you see "To Die For"? It was a hoot, and she was good. She was also good in "The Others," which was mostly tedious but paid off big in the last 15 minutes.

I did see and like "Flirting," but barely remember Kidman in that. I was too struck by Thandie Newton.

My parents keep telling me that I can't watch "The Others" because they're not sitting through the entire thing again (they feel it's one of the worst movies they've ever seen). I missed it because I was not home- that's that. Is it worth actually watching?

That's why I mentioned the movie- Kidmann might as well not be in it. They could've gotten anyone to fill the role.

I thought The Others was rather fun in an overblown way. And Kidman was certainly pretty damned good in it.

I thought it was dull until the last few minutes, when I was practically yelling HOLY S***!! I felt it made the rest of it worthwhile.

I really tried to like The Others (even with my apparent aversion to La Kidman) because I quite like the director, but found it just silly and boring. The last few minutes of the film only made me say to my friend - 'oh, something has finally happened!' Snore.

Isn't anyone going to agree or disagree about Dancer in the Dark? I was honestly so relieved when Bjork got her neck snapped - no more stupid songs! Yay! I found that film totally painful to watch. It's right up there right (down there?) after Buffalo 66.

Dancer in the Dark = Lars Von Trier + boring. Just a fact of life.

Except for his completely hatstand tv series 'Kingdom', which mamnaged to out Twin Peak 'Twin Peaks'.

Oh, I wouldn't do that. I liked him. Re "Dancer in the Dark," I didn't hate it. I found it really interesting. It either worked for you or it didn't, I guess. I liked "Breaking the Waves" much better, though. I have a friend who can't watch Lars von Trier's movies because of the jerky camera work. She works in "the industry" in L.A., so to her it just looks sloppy.

Thanks Big Red - had totally forgotten Breaking The Waves until you reminded me. Another one for the list, I'm afraid. Thought it would never end . . .

Von Trier is not for everyone, it looks like! (I know, some of you will say he's not for anyone. Tehe.)

I agree about the overrated thing. The only film I've ever seen that I wish I could get the time back from is AI. Really. The only good thing about it was the talking bear. I couldn't believe how people fawned over it, it was such tripe. This is coming from someone who has sat though a John Denver christmas film about property developers and quite enjoyed it. Every time I think about AI I get so angry.

If only it had been a film about a talking teddy.
