You could just have laughed at me without my knowing.
And then it was over.
Odo Posted Nov 19, 2003
I could have done, but that does seem to be rather unfair.
And then it was over.
egon Posted Nov 19, 2003
Yes, letting mme know your laughing at me is much better
Oh, I just shouted at some twat whose mobile phone was going off every minute with loud and irritating tones, and who answered it as though he had to shout so the person on the other end could hear him over all this distance and said "For God's sake this is a library, some of us are trying to work!" (well, I'm actaually using hootoo while printing off lecture notes from the lectures I've missed this year- sixty pages worth, but you get the idea.)
Maybe I should be a librarian...
And then it was over.
Odo Posted Nov 19, 2003
I thought it would be.
Only if you practice your fierce librarian stare first.
*glares piercingly down nose over the top of her glasses, scowling at an unfortunate sports student who walked into the library*
Then you’ve got to perfect the art of hypocrisy.
“ NO you can’t switch your phone on in here, neither can you bring that in out of the rain with you!”
All said whilst sitting behind the issue counter with a cup of in one hand, a packet of Minstrals on the desk infront of her and a mobile phone on waiting for a reply to a text sent earlier.
And then it was over.
egon Posted Nov 19, 2003
Ah, I might fall diown on the stare- trying to stare fiercely while the eye you're not looking through wanders off on it's own can lead to hysterics rather than fear.
And then it was over.
Odo Posted Nov 19, 2003
Hmmm; you could enlarge a copy of the photo on your student card and show that to any offenders instead. It could have similar effect.
And then it was over.
egon Posted Nov 19, 2003
Thank you *VERY* much.
I somtimes think h2g2 exists merely as a way for more people to take the piss out of me more easily.
And then it was over.
Odo Posted Nov 19, 2003
No, it’s not merely for taking the Michael out of you, don’t think you’re so privileged. Everyone has their day for having gentle abuse thrown at them.
Here have an , or if you can’t face that yet have some instead.
And then it was over.

I think, I've been up since about 5.00, getting slightly tired. And trying to work out how to get somewhere 27 miles away. Apparently getting there inside an hour and a hlaf is quite hard! for 27 miles! that's about 18 mph by my reckoning. And it takes an hour and a half for 20 miles on the train. Scandalous.
And then it was over.
egon Posted Nov 19, 2003
AYe, possibly. But I get out of breath if I jog to uni- and that's only half a mile. If I tried to jog to Sedgefield I'd be unconcious before I got out of Sunderland.
And then it was over.
egon Posted Nov 19, 2003
Exactly the same- can't drive, can't ride a bike.
I'm fairly useless really.
And then it was over.

I did actually notice while looking at trainers in a sports shop that rollerblades look to be the only shoes big enough for me.
I'd have to take the actual wheels off though. I remember the last time I went ice skating, I ended up with an exceptionally silly haircut, and I'm worried the same thing would happen with rollerblading.
Key: Complain about this post
