Not bad for me I've never read the book or seen the film, but I'm pretty sure Simon was the epililectic

I've seen the film and the 'Great Books' programme on it.
I just barely remember "Piggy's firemaking glasses"

Secretly Not Here Any More Posted Oct 26, 2004
"Look at it this way. Your Od'sseus/Admiral. Your surrounded by a numerically superior enemy who can attack you at any time. You know if you stay where you are your going to be destroyed by orbital guns within a few days. The best form of defence would therefore be offence, and so with the fleet thats been built up since the war declaration (Its increased in size from 34,000 strong 9 ships, to 2 million strong and goblin knows how many ships) the leader would send 200,000 troops in ten groups to different planets and cause utter chaos. That would be acting in charecter (aka last act of a desperate general)"
No. You'd surrender or fight a last stand. Nobody's ever been besieged and decided to send out terrorist suicide squads in real life, because it's detrimental to negotiating terms.
Read military history beyond the battles. Get a grasp of basic politics. Then spout this crap.

You said it your self that an attack against one planet - namely coruscant - wouldnt work even as a suicide mission. Also that Kamino couldnt fight a land war either as it would simply be beseiged (i had the troops ready to sally out from under the sea but needed more).
Far better to force the republic to spread its forces. You tell me whats easier to deal with - 1 planet or 11?
These units could in theory be sent with cloner teams and set up rolling bases for troops on board the ships. the mere 200,000 would just need to defend the mobile base while it builds reinforcements (the money/supplies for which would be taken from the planet). Weapons could be harvested from local forces as well, allowing each task force to conquer a planet, set up an independant force there, then either move on to another planet (and repeat the process), or dig in on one planet and turn each one into a stalingrad - except the kaminoan forces would have numbers (eventual), experience, and also the simple fact there willing to die on there side. Plus the idea of sparing civillians wouldnt be recognised. Kaminoan forces could wage a psychological war on Republic forces that they couldnt. I have ideas but there slightly too horrific to mention.
Once your beaten then anythings possible. To say that Kamino could win a war with the republic any other way with its (previous) troop standing is possible but needing too much chance. Sure they could all stay on Kamino, but you know as well as I do psyc that the best defence is offence.

Back to the Lord of the Flies, which we're doing in English, yes Simon's the epiletic one,the one who gets ripped apart(and don't ask me why,but I got a very "Troy"-ish vibe off his death...),the one who realises the true nature of evil...thank *Goddess* English is finished for the week,if I spout crap like that after it...
And I've only seen the remake of the film,my teacher said that the action was more realistic, and she wanted us to know just *how* violent Jack and his savages were...
God I *hate* that book.I hardly ever hate a book I read, even for school, but at first it was boring, and then it's sooooooo pesimistic.Although Ralph is meant to be a point of optimism, cause he too eventually realises what Simon realised, and he can go out into the world and make people acknowledge it.Cause if we don't do that, and do something about it,then we will destroy ourselves.
AAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The film was okay I suppose. Piggy getting killed by rock was a bit laughable though. And the moral of that tale is have a name like Ralph to not become paranoid, anti-social or dead.

I got the Life of Elenor of Aquitaine for a pound in a local charity shop (She was the mother of Richard the Lionheart & Prince John BTW), the woman behind the till was impressed until she saw the second book I bought, Lady Chatterley's Lover, she wanted to know if it was the unabridged version, I said if it wasn't I was bringing it back
