Frank Sinatra

Frank Sinatra (1915-1998), singer, actor. This entry hopes to do him justice. Considered one of the greatest talents of the big band era and after. Recorded countless hits. In younger years was a teen heartthrob, in later years an icon of popular culture. Appeared in such film musicals as "On the Town," "Anchors Away," "Guys and Dolls," "Pal Joey," and "Take Me Out to the Ballgame." To his fans he was known as "The Voice," "'Ol Blue Eyes," and "The Chairman of the Board." In the fifties and sixties he and his Rat Pack, composed mainly of Sammy Davis, Jr, and Dean Martin, performed at the Sands Hotel in Vegas. To many (me, included) he is considered a legend, a little bit of Heaven in a voice and a smile.
