I think John Ridgway is a little pessimistic about some things, but he is also a master of understatement. I am sure he is not telling us just how rough the weather is in the Southern Ocean.

I do hope he gets his steering help back soon. It must be really hard work, especially in those conditions

Yes, I think it must be extraorindarily draining to have to manually steer all the time in that bloody awful weather down there. There's no let up. However, I passed on yours (and other messages) and John knows that we're all reading his log, willing him and the crew on. They must be focussing hard on Melbourne now. What a well-earned rest that will be! All the best for now. smiley - smiley

Hi, Sam,

I think English Rose Vl will have arrived in Melbourne by now. If you can give them my congratulations on their safe arrival, and good wishes for Christmas and the New Year I would be grateful. I will be with them on the next leg too.

I hope all the crew get a chance to enjoy the festivities, in amongst all the work they have to do.

Best wishes, and season's greetings,
Websailor
