if you are from one of the deprived generations before readily available video and cable, then you would remember that the only way you could recover any of the excitement of television between showings was with a recording, usually of the round vinyl sort.

Theme song ablums were often, outside of an odd cast album, the only way, unless you were one of those sorts who recorded the show's audio with a reel to reel or a cassette tape machine, to relive the magic.

As late as the Mike Post and Jan Hammer era, the album was king.
