Why do American companies feel the need to edit animé down to the level of western entertainment? I mean, look at the dubbed versus undubbed versions of Yu-Gi-Oh! and Sailor Moon. There's no point in shielding kids from this kind of stuff, they're going to encounter it anyway, so let them earlier is what I say. And why is it that a bunny rabbit can shoot up a bunch of gangsters and kill them really, not cartoony, stone ing dead with lots of blood in Bugs Bunny, but funny looking computer programs can't kill each other with pistols in Digimon? And why can a baby smoke a pipe in Popeye but an 80 year old psychic can't in Yu Yu Hakusho (sp?)? Please, c'mon, animé rocks, but it doesn't need to be dumbed down and sanitised. And look at Spawn! That's worse that all animé, yet it goes unedited! Click here to join the h2g2 campaign for unedited animé: A1077473 .

You really have no argument. It is perfectly possible to get through life without a pipe and without swearing.
You don't NEED to see cartoon characters smoking opium or swearing their guts out: and if that's the sole reason for watching animé.. that's really sad.
Whilst I understand its not the same as the original, but you can't possibly expect small children to watch it and not immitate their favourite 80 year old psychic...

This is just not the case!
Children can be taught to watch, listen and enjoy things that contain swearing without them having to copy it.
My little brother is 8 years old, Im 20. My favourite band is limp bizkit, who, for those of you that don't know, swear a lot in their songs. My little brother also loves limp bizkit and sings along with me, leaving out any rude words.
He does this because he has simply been told right from the start that if he doesn't he will be in trouble, he wont get to play his videogames or watch his videos/dvds or whatever.
