I just get really annoyed with people who are always really cold and distant. I am not talking about shy people here. I am talking about people who look down on you, and for some reason think they are better than you. In other cases, they sometimes tend to discriminate either because of age, religion or race. I know, subconciously, we all tend to dicriminate about certain things to some degree, but people who discriminate about big issues such as the ones I mentioned earlier really get to me.

And what pleasure do people get by being cold to others and never smile?
So many times, I go into shops and the assistant just doesn't smile at all. Ok, it could be that she/he had a bad day, but I am just speaking generally here, mostly from my own personal experience.

I have been told that to people who dont know me I give the impresion of being cold and aloof (they never say snobish to your face) where I do beleive that some people are cold and snobish I for one do not set out to be.In actual fact I`d like to be "the sort of block who always has time for people".This is not going to happen because until I feel I know somebody(male or femail)experience has taught me to be on my guard and that extra afferble people are usualy after something.If you have given somebody time to get to know you and they still behave like a its their loss not yours

I do agree with you on that. I do believe that some people just tend to be more cautious of others until they have got to know them well. I used to have a friend who always looked like she was really cold and a snob but she wasn't really, deep inside. The reason for why some people behave this way could be the way they have been brought up and their culture.
