I've often wondered if it is a decline of tv standards, of our viewing standards or both.
I'm suspecting the second, because the 'off' switch is always available, but not often used.

Yeah, the droning box is something of background noise at our place...
Nobody watches it much, but it always seems to be on. I wonder if it doesn't come on by itself when nobody's around.
