This is the entry that told me it had to be able to link to entries on the Pima Nation and the battle for Iwo Jima before I could write it.

A few typos:
'listed closely' -> 'listened closely'
'meager' -> 'meagre'
'Private Fist Class' -> 'Private First Class '
Apart from that, great stuff! It gets my

Thanks for those, FM. I've done the repair work on the typos.
Meager/meagre is actually an American English/British English issue, not a typo. Since British English is the rule, though, I've made the change. No worries.

Hi, 0!
This is another great entry - a very moving story about the heroism of an 'ordinary' person and the damaging effects of the insatiable publicity machine. Well done (as usual!) and let's hope this gets into the Edited Guide as soon as possible.
On the duller topic of British vs. American English, you have 'honor' rahter than 'honour' in a few places. A slightly more complicated point is 'visit with' - British English still insists that a visit is made 'to' someone or somewhere, and 'visiting with' still sounds odd on this side of the Atlantic (though I give it 5 years or so before the American version makes itself at home here!)

The honors have been honoured and the with has been toed... Ummm... wait, that's not righted. The with has been neither toed nor... Oh, nevermind! It's now a visit to, not a visit with.

Brilliant, interesting, and thoughtful entry.

Thank you, Z. I see that history is one of your interests. Since most of my entries tend to be historical in nature, here's hoping that I can keep you interested! And that you'll be able and willing to point out any inaccuracies that may sneak into my writing.

A very interesting tale told with style,
one little typo for you, in the Photograph section: >>a symbol of patriotism for Americans for the remained of the war,<<
I think that's 'remainder'.
this looks like a gimmee for scouting,
what more can i say...

Thanks David, I'm afriad I know very little about American History, or to be honest history that isn't reguarly featured in documentrys. I know I shuold recitify this, there is more to the world history than the wives of Henry VIII

Ah yes... That old "I should" demon. There won't ever be time for all of the "I should's" until we figure out how to make each day last 72 hours.
I'm sure that your knowledge of American history is every bit as comprehensive as my knowledge of British history!
No worries.

You kept me waiting right to the end for the 'Man in Black' reference...
It's through Cash's music that I know about Ira Hayes.
This entry tells the story in greater depth, but I reckon it'd be better still if Johnny was reading it.

I admit it. The Johnny Cash rendition of the song is how I first learned about Ira Hayes, too.
I refuse to do an entry on A Boy Named Sue, though!

A good entry!
My only minor pick is that I don't think the metric equivalent to a quarter mile is necessary in this entry.
Cheers!

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!
