Finds the Words Again

Hello,
Fascinating mole-ness here. If anyone tried the boiling soap and water trick on them, then they can have a librarian from me.
Oh, and I've completed the Blyton word game, but thought I'd give everyone else a chance. The answers are stuck on a Post-It on my monitor, but I'll hold off posting them until about four o'clock this afternoon.

Morning david!
Well, you nearly also won the prize for "fastest response to a H.O.T column too; just pipped at by peregrine; though to be fair, I did give him some advance warning!
I'm really quite gratified, it's thinking of you gasping with anticipation of the latest issue of <./>thepost</.> ; it reminds me of the ad at the back of School Friend Annual:
"It's the day that School Friend arrives -- that thrilling weekly that all girls love! Join the gay throng of regular readers --and have a red-letter day every week."

Cod, Rod, Row, Crow, Crowd, O
I love these Terri - even if I have to hold off a few hours before revealing the answers.
I'll be a bit busy today, but I'll start investigating Houseboats in Holland asap and get back to you!

Nice read Terri
Those mole creatures are quite odd looking,do you suppose they are ancient rodents? Living underground must not require much evolving.

Hi Abbi!
Hmm, the evolution question. Maybe they've in fact evolved so much, they have come to the conclusion that "going underground" is actually a very sensible answer, considering what the humans seem to be trying to do to the surface bits!
I remember being fascinated to read, when I was a kid, that their fur is more like velvet,as Tammlyan says:
"See how the hairs grow, thickly and straight up. They do not lie at all one way as a dog's hairs do, or a cat's. He can go either forwards or backwards as he pleases you see, without his coat being ruffled up the "wrong way"."
--What a useful social skill!!!
As far as disappointed Puzzlers are concerned; here's a lttle consolation prize; previous winners are NOT allowed to post answers until others have had a go!
"I am something that men and horses wear; alter my tail and you may put me in a gun; change my second letter and you will be sure to find me coming down your chimney; give me another head and you may slip my first on my last and go a-walking"
(EB, of course, not me; though I aspire to such wisdom if I ever grow up!)
*s back to award prizes!*

Nope; can't decide!
Shazz, of course has an unfair advantage since she sees all this long before the rest of you; David is showing remarkable restraint; his post-it note must be boring holes into his computer by now; and I feel the sympathy vote HAS to go to Just Me!
*thinks*
--You could try bribing the judge.....
Terri.
(Shazz: ; look forward to hearing from you on that via email!)

You're right, you're right!!
Too clever by half, you lot!
I shall have to come up with something a bit more difficult I can see...

Oh, mumble grumble... I shall have to dispense with the post-it method in future, I feel. And stay on-line all day just in case new ones (like the shoe one) appear.
These are fun.
