I agree. Really nice the way you blended in the elements of midsummer, phoenix and media-mania. Poetic.

If you like HP, read Philip Pullman's 'Dark Materials' trilogy. Like HP, except the kids smoke.

I once saw the cafe in Edinburgh where Rowling wrote the first HP. It made me feel me there is hope for all writers.

I just finished the 'Dark Materials' books. I thought they were wonderful. And I now understand why some of the churches had problems with the books.

I was tickled at a comment Pullman made in his Acknowledgements that he had borrowed ideas from every book he ever read. Now THAT gives me hope as a budding writer. Unfortunately I write poetry, so I've given up any hope of making a living at it.
