It is weird how in the hardest of times you find accounts of all being blissful
They say that about the civil war women that wrote dairies. The mothers of my generations refer to WWII being the best fun of their lives. Best and worst rolled into one.

I think this lot were living at a time when those who had survived the First World War were convinced that everything in the garden was rosy;
Sadly, guess what was just around the corner? It must have been dreadful for the generation who had their dreams shattered not once, but twice.
