lie down near a window sill put your legs up on the window sill and slowly lift your bum off the floor do this for as long as you can take it really helps to tone up bums thighs hips and lower abs !!!

Can anyone suggest "belly-reducing" exercise for someone who cannot do any exercises putting strain on hips ? (walking/bicycling is a no-no)

There are lots of simple things like swimming or yoga that you can do which have motions that have little or no impact on the hip joints.

The best thing to do is consult your doctor before to make sure whether exercise will make things better or worse long term.
