A Conversation for Talking Point: Crazy Olympics
Telephone Marathon

I think this event has seriously possibilities. Has anyone else noticed that whenever you try and ring someone urgently (banks, telephone companies, public transport 'information' switchboards, technical helplines etc) that you're always put on hold? True athletes in this event would be subjected to long, gruelling hours of "Your Call Is Important To Us, Please Hold" and call-waiting 'music'. The goal? To retrieve some useful information and speak to a human. Or at least outlast the other competitors. To add even more difficulty to this already almost impossible event, they will have to be standing throughout the ordeal.
Any other ideas on how to make it even more difficult? Perhaps if we forced them to drink a lot of water or alcohol beforehand to increase the urgency in their voice when they scream at the telephones.
The gold medals will have, of course, "Bloody Miracle" engraved on them.
