The benefit of this one is that it could be a fringe event at the real Olympics.
You can picture it now can't you?
Duane Lardparts (Western Hemisphere Javelin champeen) legs it up to the line with a big pointy implement and lashes it into the air. The commentary is taken up, "Yes he's got a good angle, this could be a long throw... and from the side is a little person from Scotland wearing a bright orange wig and tartan underpants. He's running into the path of the javelin! IS HE CRAZY! Ah no, I can see he has a little square of paper with the number 42 on his chest he must be a competitor. He launches himself into the air... will he catch it? Oh, no the turned down top of his wellie has caused more drag than he'd anticipated. This could be serious! Phew... a lucky escape no serious damage done... just a hole in the wig.
I see he's off to fetch a new wig from his sports bag and then he's off to the quarter finals of heading the shot.
