A Conversation for The Garden by Andrew Marvell

Are footnotes really expected in H2G2 articles,
Mister Christopher?
And what are those strange clumps of random
characters in the places where apostrophes and
quotation marks ought to be?

The strange clumps are an artifact of cutting and pasting from Microsoft Word. And as far as footnotes are concerned, yes, they are expected, which is why there is a footnote tag. but this entry doesn't actually have footnotes (which I think would be a good addition). Rather, it has a list of works cited (also acceptable). Hey, Mr. Christopher, Marvel is a little outside my area again, but I'll certainly have another look once the formating is tidied up a bit. If you want to look at my edited entry on Runes A952634 or Beowulf A994665 you'll see some of the things you can do with formating (and footnotes). If you check out my recommended entry at A1018577 you can see footnotes, links, and a list of works cited.

Hey, MC - I notice you're still around. I've just been made aware of this poem in connection with my Entry 'A Flower Clock Garden' (A5170024).
I actually quoyted another poem of Marvell's (The Mower to the Glo-Worm) in my Entry on Comets (A5170024).
In searching hootoo for Marvell, I discovered your unedited Entry. I wondered whether you would be interested in polishing it up for PR, or perhaps expanding it to be more of a biography of Marvell himself?
