A Conversation for Bathtubs
paying homage to Bathtubs

I'm indulging myself here (but I'm definitely not from Golgafrincham, so I must be allowed), but in 1980 I wrote this marvellously witty thing called 'The Book of Theories', and the flagship (~not~ B-ark) of this book was The Bathtub Theory. I even submitted it in lieu of my proper science assignment one term (and interestingly, that teacher who marked it left shortly afterwards). Now that this has resurfaced in my mind, however, I can't be sure that I wasn't originally inspired by Hitch-Hiker's. Do I owe Douglas Adams a year's supply of bath bombs now? (On a more serious note, the person who invented the claw-footed bath never had to clean under one!)

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
