Easter Egg Haiku
It's time to clean house -
under the sofa: dust bunnies
and a grey jelly bean.
A chocolate bunny
looks up at you from his basket.
Quick - bite his ears off!
Cadbury creme eggs!
Marshmallow peeps! And jelly beans!
Toothache - ow - toothache.
Old Easter proverb:
have chocolate eggs for breakfast,
have bellyache for supper.
Green cellophane grass
is not edible. The dog
does not know this.
Like a lump of coal
in your Christmas stocking -
ugh! black jelly beans.
An Easter egg hunt:
eight eggs, two pop cans, an old sock,
muddy shoes and grins.
