h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

If anyone has any suggestions as to how we can get peole and staff
into the tea shoppe on a regular basis or if anyone is having problems and would like to discuss them then they can come on here and we will try our best to implement suggestions and sort out complaints.
If the complaint is something that cant be discussed on here then i will leave my email address and people can come and chat to me on there also i would like other members of staff to leave email addresses where people can contact them if the problem is me then maybe they can discuss it with Helen, or Jinty, or EM..

marc just a suggestion but could you maybe enrol some new staff to replace the ones that have vanished there was christine jackie rainbow batwing and some others i think
it might not be easy as i think you already tried to contact them and got no response they all seemed keen to start with then poop they were gone

i have tried a few times to contact some of the missing ones bat won`t even reply to postings, the only success i have had has been chell. i am at the moment looking for new staff, but then we could end up with more staff than customers..we do have a few regular customers, and i`m sure that they would do great as staff..Sheryl cleaner (she can get her broom to those out of reach places, Kat as a chef (seems to have a good knowledge of food) Sal (not sure where she would fit but she would fit somewhere).. belena (also quite good regards catering)
see what happens..

marc,I would love to do sth, but I:
m only online in the afternoon and it's fairly quit then. But I could put sth on my page if you tell me how to do it and then I'll try to convince people to have a look at my page and get them not only to the pop puzzler but to the teashoppe as well

kat is already very busy with the FoLDers Arms... now that we kinda managed to solve _our_ staff problem for the bar it would be back to square one if kat was giving some of her time somewhere else...
the main reason being that there is another project that's being currently developped for her so, with the FoLDers, that new project and her many own activities on H2G2 _another_ commitment would not be productive for any of us...

yeah... i also had problems at the library.. so even on a PC i couldn't always post... kinda wasted my time there, especially as now the library is very strict about only one hour per day..

hopefully next time i'm on a PC the servers will behave...

Loup i understand about kat and i wouldn`t like to poach staff from anywhere else..I think i will look to Sal or belena to help out on the catering side and Jinty there would still only be 2 cos it would only be temp while Chuck sees to the pop puzzler..
Loup if we got you list of who is and isn`t with us anymore would you be able to update the front page for us?? and put a link `click here to go to latest postings` on the front page cos some people come to the tea shoppe can`t find the conversation that we are all on so they vanish???

hi marc...

i feel bad deciding for kat but i know that having commitments in too many projects can be difficult... and as i said she will have her own project as well pretty soon..

i'm relatively lucky because most of the time i start the projects and people run it so it makes things a bit easier that way... the last one [Essex Reseachers Group] is a great example... people are already contributing great infos/ieas/etc... all manda and i have to do is adding links and time to time bring up some new topics.. [ i have/will contribute too as there are lots of things i want to know about essex having moved to southend only 2 years ago... but, i don't have to commit myself 100%...]

a link to the convo from the page?!... yep.. can be done... but not until monday unfortunately... i was hoping to go to the library tomorrow but i have to take one of my daughters out for her birthday...

hopefully these unfortunate delays won't be for too long now... i'm doing my best to get a PC as soon as possible... once i've got it things will be easier for all of us...

Still might need some help with the g`cleff cafe yet if you have any idea or links or anything like that i may be able to use i would welcome them..i know what you mean about time being a problem as well i feel as if i haven`t been of line for weeks..lol

marc you need a "happy hour" in the tea shoppe.....everything half price..and a different time every day!!!!!maybe a general knowledge quiz in the hour as well.just need a lot of people to know about it!!!!.bed time.xxxx

MMMMM.. happy hour and quiz make it sound like a pub the tea shopp e is supposed to be a more relaxed atmosphere..picture sids cafe on last of the summer wine and that type of thing is what i see but a little more classy..

yep and a quiz can be tricky to run with simulposts/blue boxes/servers playing up/etc...

the tea shop is currently advertised jointly with the FolDers Arms in strategic points.. the best example being the plain skin entry: anyone accessing the convos and more importantly clicking on "reply" will see what i mean...

because of unfortunate delays i haven't been able to do more advertising, but eventually all the H2G2/Lders space entries/projects will have a kinda advert in their convos...

with more projects being launched on the h2g2/LDers space, more opportunities will be there to plug the tea shop and the FoLDers as well...

my space itself [in definate need of updating ] will have the link to the tea shop added soon..

so the tea shop will definitely become more known anyway...
