Well, it was carefully planned out, when built, so it follows high ridgelines and natural contours.
All respect to Gene Cernan, but most people think he just figured out where the great wall would be, and didn't actually see it.
Because it's not imported rock, that it was made from. The builders used the same rock as the surrounding landscape, so it's basically camoflauged.
Also, it's very coarse, dull rock, so it's shinyness (albedo) is very low. Doesn't stand out when the sun shines on it, like a lake would.
But the main reason you can't see the Great Wall of China from space, be it orbit, the moon, or anywhere, really:
It's too small.
Yeah, yeah, just hold on.
Sure it's very long, and pretty high. But those aren't the dimensions you're looking at when you're above it. You're looking at the width and length of it.
And it only averages about 20 feet wide.
Imagine looking at a piece of paper. Doesn't matter how big it is, if you're looking at the edge of it. It becomes an invisible line.
You could make the Wall so long it wrapped around the earth 10 times, but it would still only be 200 feet wide by then, which is smaller than the dimensions of most shopping malls, grocery stores, cargo ships, football stadiums, and everything else you can't see from space.
This wouldn't be a rumor to this day if it didn't have an aire of believability, but I assure you, with the naked eye, the Great Wall of China is invisible.
So there's that. Now on to the real issue: Has anyone seen the author of this piece? Says he was last around a week ago. Anybody know what's up?

Its an interesting concept and I like it. Most of the comments made are well presented but if you decide to use them all you should maybe split it into 2 parts.
Hope this helps
