Very nice system. Java's strong OO and interfaces make good sense for simulation systems like this.
This doesn't mean of course that it's fast. But it is 
It's fast to develop in. OO allows the robots to be written in quite an intuitive style.
Now all we need to do is work this into a full article and stick it in PR...
