Robocode is a Java application designed by Mathew Nelson as part of the IBM Alphaworks process. It is intended as a learning enviroment for those new the Java. In it you design robots in Java using the normal Java language with a few added commands, such as ahead(),back() and turnRight(). Regardless of its intended purpose there are a fair number of experienced Java coders that spend hours a week coding robots to enter into the various competitions.
